For a photographer, the concept...
For a photographer, the concept of light in which there is no darkness is unknown. Light is a very important element in photography. And light produces darkness in the form of shadows. There are different degrees of light, from midday brightness, to the yellow light of early morning and late evening, each creating its own special shadows. Placement of the light source is a key consideration in the composition of a photograph. Light held under the face of a subject creates an eerie effect. Standing with the sun behind the photographer leaves the subjects squinting or their faces bleached.
