The word serendipity is derived...
The word "serendipity" is derived from an ancient Persian legend about the three Princes of Serendip who went out looking for a certain treasure. Although they did not discover what they were looking for, nevertheless, they kept finding things of even greater value. "Serendipity" reminds one to expect the unexpected. As with Jacob, God at times will break into our search for a certain treasure with promises of far greater worth. Yet on the level of our relationship with God, one can say that we genuinely expect him to come bringing us new life ... even by means of a cross.
